Odette’s Inferno, A Poem Reimagining Henri Georges Clouzot’s Hell

Odette

I am to desire a sea of violets, reckoning.

Vibrancy disrupted and lit on fire.

Jealousy coming up from violent waters, hungry.

In your imagination, I am just dangerous enough.

Not creation without end, untamable.

Truthfully, my voice is a bridge

Skyward since quantum breath.

My reflection: movement perpetual,

A memory which persists but never stays,

Enjoying the light of myself,

I am most alive.
