In the mid-70s Alejandro Jodorowsky (director of El Topo and Santa Sangre) attempted to adapt the popular and successful Frank Herbert science-fiction novel Dune. What would follow would be years of attempting to get it made, which was finally given up due to the numerous financial issues surrounding the film.
Although Dune was never finished, what remains is a distinct legacy in the history of filmmaking, and the beautiful storyboards that would have turned into footage.
Below are examples of the artwork created by Moebius for the greatest film never made.
